I am an IT teacher who has been using Etoys to teach programming for over 3 years now. I have been referencing your blog all the time and it was very useful.
I have a question.
In the "Contents" page you mention that the mailing list has been operational since February 2017. I have been trying to get on the mailing list a gazillion times for the past 3 years, no success.
Could you please help me out and add me to the mailing list?
Hi Neven sorry for taking so long to notice your comment. I have been a little too immersed in Red Dead these days. There is a nabble forum board for Squeakland. http://forum.world.st/Squeak-f45487.html The Squeak devs are still working with Etoys and you might get a response on the Squeak forums as well. Meanwhile I'll check into the mailing list.
I looked at the message list archive and it's still active but the messages also get posted at the nabble forum. I just wanted to confirm that you used this form to sign up for the list. http://squeakland.org/discuss/squeakland/ If you click on the archives link you'll see there hasn't been much traffic lately. The Etoys dev list has been inactive since 2016 but the Squeak devs are still making Etoys commits to Squeak. I usually use the nabble forum but I haven't posted in quite awhile myself. There really isn't anything like Etoys so it's too bad interest has fallen off a bit.
Hey vickiS, thank you so much for the reply, and really sorry for my late reply!
No worries at all, Red Dead 2 looks dope and I can't wait to play through it one day when I buy a PC :P
Thanks for the Nabble link. I will definitely check out the forum. I have no experience with Squeak other than from Etoys so hopefully it will be useful.

Indeed I used this sign up form, but I was never successful in signing up for it. I will try again. I tried again and it seems their website is having problems: https://i.imgur.com/5DwEkj8.png
Indeed I checked the archives and too bad, I would love to contribute with some neat ideas for Etoys.
Indeed I also noticed that the devs are regularly updating Etoys, I mean the current version got released today!
That is why it particularly saddens me why I haven't managed to find a community yet.
Would you please be able to send an email to the mailing list and check whether they can fix the signup form?
I have sent an email to Sean P DeNigris. It appears he is responsible for the Squeak forum board at Nabble which includes Squeakland. I'll let you know when or if I hear back from him.
An update. My emails are getting bounced. :( I requested help through a form but I have no idea if that got through. However, the Squeak devs posted an invite to a slack channel at https://squeak.org/community/ so that might be another option. You could also try OLPC or sugarlabs mailing lists because Etoys is included in their software and where you are most likely to find an active community. http://lists.sugarlabs.org/ or http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Mailing_lists
