My Sketch, Object...Thing Disappeared

Objects can disappear from view for a variety of reasons but fortunately Etoys has several methods of revealing them. Scripts can send them outside the world's visible area or you can use tiles to deliberately hide them.

I find it helpful to always open a viewer on new objects so they get added to the Players tool right away. Even if the object is hidden, out of range or embedded in another object the object will still be listed in the tool. Clicking on the box in between the menu and the viewer icon will display the object's halo and the object if visible.

Objects can also be revealed through a menu option at the top of their viewer.

If you have hidden multiple objects, Playfield objects such as the world have a tile in the Playfield category to show all hidden objects. The Playfield halo menu playfield option has an option to round up objects that have strayed from view. Holding shift and left clicking on the world object will bring up a list of objects as well.

If an object is hidden behind another object choose send to back in the bigger object's halo menu options.

As always it's best to save your project before running new scripts or trying something unfamiliar in the menu options.
